Predicting, Settlements and Outcomes

How do I place predictions?

The prediction process may vary by product and partner workflow, but generally you select an eligible market, review the contract terms, choose an outcome, enter the order details, review fees and risk information, and submit the order. You should only place an order after reading the market rules and understanding the maximum amount you may lose.

Who am I trading with?

You are trading with other market participants. Predictor does not take the other side of your trades and does not act as a market maker. Predictor provides the user interface and introduces eligible customers to regulated partners; trades occur according to the applicable exchange and FCM processes.

What determines the price of a contract?

Prices are determined by supply and demand from market participants. Prices can change before settlement as new information becomes available, as liquidity changes, and as buyers and sellers update their views. Market prices, probabilities, and past outcomes are not guarantees of future results.

Can I sell or exit before a market resolves?

You may be able to exit before settlement if there is market liquidity and if the market remains open for trading. Liquidity is not guaranteed. You may receive more or less than you paid depending on the market price at the time you exit.

Is there a limit to how much I can trade or win?

Limits may apply based on market liquidity, exchange rules, account status, regulatory requirements, FCM controls, funding methods, risk reviews, and other factors. Trading privileges and limits may change over time.

What are the fees?

Trading through Predictor may involve fees charged by Predictor and/or its partners, including the FCM and the exchange. Fees may include trading fees, payment and funding fees, withdrawal fees, FCM fees, DCM/ Exchange fees, or other charges necessary for the service to operate. All applicable fees will be disclosed prior to trading where required.

What happens after I place a prediction?

When you submit an order, it is sent to the market to be matched with another participant. Your order may be filled immediately, partially filled, or remain open until a matching order is available.

Once your order is filled, you have a position in that market. Depending on the market and its rules, you can hold your position until settlement or may be able to exit your position before the market closes.

Can I cancel a trade?

You can cancel an open order at any time before it has been matched and filled.

Once an order has been matched and a trade has been executed, it cannot be cancelled. However, depending on the market and its rules, you may be able to exit your position before the market closes by placing an order in the opposite direction.

Please note that there is no guarantee that an order to exit your position will be filled.

Settlement and Outcomes

How are market outcomes decided?

Settlement is based on the applicable market rules, official sources, exchange rules, and contract terms. Users should review the resolution criteria for each market before placing predictions. Predictor does not guarantee market outcomes or override applicable exchange settlement rules.

How quickly are markets settled after an event concludes?

Settlement timing may vary based on the market, the official source, exchange processes, clearing processes, and whether additional review is required. Some markets may settle quickly after the relevant result is confirmed, while others may take longer if the official source or required process is delayed.

How do payouts work?

If a contract settles in your favor, your account will be credited according to the applicable contract terms, exchange rules, clearing process, and FCM account settlement procedures. If the contract settles against you, you may lose the amount you put at risk. Fees and other charges may apply.

What if I disagree with a market resolution?

First review the market rules, settlement source, deadline, and contract terms. If you still believe there is an issue, contact support through the appropriate support channel. The applicable exchange rules and contract terms will govern the final outcome.

What is an invalid or void market resolution?

An invalid or void resolution may occur if a market cannot be resolved according to its rules, if an event is cancelled or materially changed, or if the applicable exchange rules provide for voiding or cancellation. The treatment of funds, positions, and refunds is governed by the applicable contract terms and exchange rules.
