Trading Responsibly

How should I trade responsibly?

Prediction markets are designed to reflect views about future events, but trading always involves risk. Before trading, make sure you understand the market, the rules, the potential loss, and whether trading is appropriate for your circumstances.

  • Trade only what you understand.
  • Read the market title, rules, settlement source, fees, and risk disclosures before placing an order.
  • Trade only with funds you can afford to lose.
  • Set limits, take breaks, and do not chase losses.
  • Do not trade when stressed, intoxicated, pressured, or trying to recover money quickly.

Can I trade using inside information?

No. You are prohibited from using confidential, material, or non-public information. You are also prohibited from sharing such information with others or helping others trade on it.

Can athletes, public officials, campaign staff, journalists, employees, or insiders trade?

It depends. Some people may be restricted from trading certain markets because of their job, access to information, relationship to the event, or legal obligations. For example, a candidate trading on their own election, a team employee trading on a team-related market, or a journalist trading before publishing market-moving information may be prohibited. Please review the prohibitions and restrictions of the contract.

What should I avoid?

Predictors must not engage in activity that undermines market integrity or violates applicable rules.

  • Do not trade using material non-public information.
  • Do not manipulate markets or prices.
  • Do not collude with others to distort outcomes.
  • Do not trade for someone else or on behalf of a restricted person.
  • Do not attempt to circumvent account controls, eligibility checks, jurisdiction restrictions, or compliance reviews.

What consumer-protection measures may apply?

Predictor and its partners may monitor activity for unusual patterns, risky trading behavior, suspected fraud, market abuse, prohibited conduct, or compliance concerns. Controls may include account review, trading limits, temporary restrictions, withdrawal review, suspension, or reporting suspicious conduct to relevant partners, exchanges, regulators, or integrity providers where appropriate.

Are there self-exclusion or account restriction tools?

Predictor reserves the right to implement tools that may limit or restrict access to the platform, including temporary breaks, deposit limits, trading limits, cooling-off periods, or account closure requests, where necessary and where available.
